The Volkswagen Caddy is a compact van with all the mod conveniences and twin sliding doors, suitable for carrying larger products. The Caddy is a versatile addition to your squad, with plenty of get up and go.

The Transporter ‘s smaller brother, the Caddy is a fun and efficient compact van which bears many of the same characteristics as its bigger sibling. Powerful, comfortable and with a wide but manageable load area, the Caddy succeeds in combining functional features with good driving capabilities. The newer generations are especially impressive in terms of their performance, which is particularly true in TDI engines (either 1.6 or 2.0), which still remain powerful and return strong MPG figures. The 753 kg payload and 4.2m3 volume (in the Caddy Maxi range) does not meet all needs being on the compact side of the van scale, but should provide enough for those who are looking for a good combination of practicality and driving satisfaction.

All diesel and petrol engines are available in the range, with a 2.0-liter TDI that produces 74bhp, 101bhp and 148bhp compared against three petrol engines – a 1.4-liter (123bhp), a 1.2-liter (83bhp) and a 1.0-liter (101bhp) three-cylinder option. Although becoming increasingly popular in light commercial vehicles, as panel vans, petrol engines still do not attract large volumes and typically remain the preserve of variants carrying passengers.

There is also a trio of Caddy trim packages, and the range kicks off with the Caddy Startline featuring City Emergency Braking Front Assist, a five-inch DAB radio / CD player touchscreen, electrical windows and mirrors, and a single side door sliding. Step up to the Caddy Trendline and you’ll get climate control, cruise, height-adjustable driver seats, and body bumpers.
