As a work truck, the Combo has everything you want-excellent mobility with low loading height and sliding rear side access doors. Due to compact cargo options with load-through hatch, a total cargo space of 3.8 to 4.4m3 is even more versatile, enabling you to store longer loads up to 3.44 m.
The shape of the squarer body ensures the space inside is fine, while a low floor makes it easy to reach. Payloads have also increased, and up to one tonne of freight in the back is now possible. Perhaps more useful is a handy cargo area load indicator which alerts you if you overload the van’s rear.
There are plenty of options available which allow you to upgrade the Combo to match your needs. All choice packs are also available on each of the three models. The Parking Pack includes rear and front sensors, a rear camera, and a nearside camera to give you a blind spot view of the car. Attach the Safety Pack to attach lane assist, traffic sign recognition, a tiredness warning to automatic emergency braking with forward collision warning.
The Vauxhall Combo van is now a front-runner in the compact van class with its upgrade to running gear at PSA Group. The back has ample freight weights, easy access and plenty of useful load carrying options. In addition to this, the cab is a nice place to spend time, and there is a raft of great safety kit available to promote working life. On the track, the diesel engines provide adequate pulling power to keep up with traffic, while the car-derived running gear also means driving feels good. The Combo will certainly be on the shortlist of any small van buyer.
